How does CBT actually work?

CBT is a talking therapy based on the idea that what people think can affect how they feel, and how they behave. By identifying extreme or unhelpful thought patterns, we help you transform your thoughts and actions to improve your daily life.

Cognitive and/or behavioural psychotherapies can be used on their own or in conjunction with medication prescribed by your GP, depending on the severity or nature of each client’s problem. CBT can be used to help anyone irrespective of ability, culture, race, gender or sexual preference.
We offer Cognitive Behaviour Therapy in individual sessions with the number of CBT sessions depending on the difficulty you need help with. Often this will be between five and twelve sessions of around 55 minutes and at the end of treatment have strategies on how to continue using CBT techniques in your daily life.
